Higher Options 2014 Review

So, I've sat down so many times to try to write a review of the Higher Options but I frankly do not know how to review it better than my friend has on her blog! This is the best review I've read so check it out here :)

Physics Formulae : Important Notice

I very recently posted all the relevant physics equations here. Unfortunately however I noticed that some devices couldn't feature some of the greek symbols needed, on the Google Docs platform. I could not upload the file directly but I will put them up as image files too so everyone can see them perfectly!  :D

Martin Luther King: An Appreciative Study (History Civil Rights Movement)

Today I'm posting about one of the most inspirational Key Personalities from our history course, Martin Luther King Jr. As the Civil Rights Movement forms such an important part of the US and the Wider World History Book, I feel that it is essential you have knowledge of him!
Note that you can be asked specifically about his role/contribution in the Civil Rights Movement.

Firstly we are going to look at the man himself and then we will look at his famous 'I have a Dream' speech.

○ Born in 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia

○ He studied for the ministry and finished his education at Boston University

○ He became a prominent leader during the Montgomery Bus Boycott

○ He too much inspiration from the teachings of Mahatma Ghandi

○ In 1957, King founded the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. 

○ He was a powerful leader who could attract large audiences. He promoted Non violent protests.

○ In 1963, with an audience of 250, 000 marchers King made his famous ' I have a Dream ' speech. 

○ In 1964, The Civil Rights Act became law and King became the youngest ever recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize.

○ On 4 April 1968, King was planning a Poor People's March on Washington, when he was assassinated in Memphis, Tenessee by a hired assassin, James Earl Ray.

Thanks to eircom.net, I've just discovered the most extensive list of Seanfhocail! It has phrases for everything and I'll give you a link here. It just goes to show you can find leaving cert help anywhere! Be sure to take a look and fancy up those tedious essays!

Q. Maggie, what's with the 'galaxy' part, I've seen no mention of galaxy

A. Oh my dear reader, that is where you're wrong... Let me tell you the story of how the name came about. As a matter of fact, we'll do it as a maths equation...
Firstly, I was eating a Galaxy Bar (Cookie Crumble) while starting this nameless blog. This then got me thinking about The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (Film) and finally this blog is about the good old Leaving Cert.

Therefore Galaxy chocolate + HGTTG + Leaving Cert = My Blog Name :)

State Examinations Commission Oral Dates and Picture Sequences 2015

The SEC are always quite on the ball with days and dates and so if you haven't already heard, the 2015 Oral Examinations will take place between the 13th and 24th of April.

Also, to help both myself and others, I will be doing some work on the 2015 Sraith Pictiúr which will be available ovee the coming weeks, I cannot stress how important they are, and how vital it is you learn some basic vocab to string a story together!

I often find myself in a bit of a pickle study wise. For example, where in the world do I start?

Welcome

If you're reading this, you're probably doing your Leaving Cert. For us, it is going to be one of the most stressful times of our lives but I'm here to help in any ways I can. I aim to provide self-help tips, how I cope with it all, and some exam based help too!

As a bit of background my name is Mags and I've just started 6th year (14/15). I study Irish, English, Maths, French, Art, Physics and History! I'm an absolute 'stress pot' and I'm really doing this blog to offload the stress/fear associated with the Leaving, and I'm not going to lie, I'm already bricking it!
